Historic Macon’s membership has some of the best chefs in town and their baked goods and savory treats will be for sale at the Cottage bake sale. Goodies like cookies, cakes, quiches, jams and jellies will be available to purchase. Come to the Cottage to stock up on treats for all of your holiday events and let Historic Macon volunteers take the stress out of your holiday! The Side Porch gift shop will also be open. The gift shop has an array of items unique to Macon and its history. Shop to find the perfect holiday presents for Maconites and Macon lovers. It's one of Macon's sweetest holiday traditions.
“This year, we have the opportunity to showcase the Cottage with this annual event following the InTown Christmas Tour of Homes,” said Kim Campbell, Historic Macon’s Preservation and Education Coordinator. “Participants from the InTown tour have the chance to see the Cottage as a ‘bonus’ house decorated for the holidays and purchase some delicious goodies at the same time. We particularly excited to welcome the Otis Redding Foundation DREAM Choir back this year to perform favorite Christmas carols starting at 6pm.”
Admission is free to the public. Samples of treats available for purchase can be tasted with a $5 donation to Historic Macon. The Sidney Lanier Cottage is located at 935 High Street, Macon, Georgia, 31201. For more information, visit our website at www.historicmacon.org or call 478-742-5084.
