Children’s Hospital Invites Community to Family Friendly Tree Lighting Event Tonight

The community is invited to join Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health on Monday, December 5 at 6:00 p.m. for an annual holiday tradition, the lighting of The Children’s Tree.
Destiny Chamberlin, a 10-year-old from Fort Valley, Ga. and a patient at Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health will light the tree in honor of all of the hospital’s young patients. The Mercer University Children’s Choir will provide musical entertainment for the event. Representatives from Kohl’s Department Stores will also present a donation of $32,662 to a Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health safety program and provide giveaways for children and safety awareness information for parents.
Festivities will take place at The Medical Center, Navicent Health’s Albert Luce Jr. Heart Institute, located at the corner of First and Hemlock Streets. Guests may park in the surface parking lot at the corner of Hemlock and First Streets at no charge.
Since 2006, the Kohl’s Cares program has generously given over $386,000 to Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health. The funds have enabled the establishment and growth of the “Kohl’s Cares For Kids Safety Zone” program, which promotes child passenger safety awareness and education.
