St. Francis Arts Center is pleased to present the 3rd Annual Juried Arts Show, featuring more than 30 middle Georgia artists and nearly 100 works. The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on Friday, October 7, from 6-9 p.m. The Show will run through Sunday, October 23 with gallery hours on Thursdays and Fridays from 4-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

This year's show is comprised of a variety of mediums, including ceramics, sculpture, photography, and paintings; aiming to attract fresh talent from local artists. "Connecting arts to the community and strengthening individual artists' craft is really the core of St. Francis Arts Center. We are passionate about all forms of art and providing a space for people to explore and experiment with different methods. Our Arts Center boasts one of the broadest selection of offerings in Macon, which is something that makes us a great community resource," states Tracie Jenkins, Board President of St. Francis Arts Center.

The St. Francis Arts Center is a community-focused educational facility that offers classes, workshops, and exhibits in a variety of creative mediums. The center's historic building was originally constructed in 1924 for the Appleton Girl's Orphanage. In 2014, the space was restored and adapted for the Arts Center's initial opening. The Center presents the Middle Georgia community with classes, shows, and programs that relate to visual arts and culture.

"Because we [St. Francis Arts Center] are a home to so many forms of art, both visual and experiential, our Juried Arts Show reflects that spectrum. It's quite powerful to experience art that is aesthetically beautiful and moving, knowing that a neighboring Georgia artist is the masterful creator of those emotions. Middle Georgia has a strong and vibrant art community, and we want people to be able to immerse in it, whether that's by viewing, creating, or learning a new skill," explains Janet Williams, Board Vice President of St. Francis Arts Center.

"A third years brings the awareness of growth what we've been able to achieve in such a short time," explains Kathryn Kane, Director of St. Francis Arts Center. "The Arts Center has brought together individuals giving them a network in which they can thrive and learn. We've fostered an eclectic and robust arts community, and our annual show is the perfect way to experience it."
