Coliseum Health System is pleased to welcome Timothy Grant, MD, MBA, CPE as Chief Medical Officer for Coliseum Health System.  Dr. Grant will be responsible for quality and patient safety, medical education, strategic vision and physician executive leadership for Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside Hospital.  He will focus on enhancing and improving processes of care and operations.
 
Dr. Grant spent his clinical career as an anesthesiologist.   He most recently practiced as a Pediatric Anesthesiologist for Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants in Charlotte, NC.  Prior to that, he served as Clinical Assistant Professor and Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology, as well as Instructor of Health Care Economics, at Mercer University School of Medicine. He also served as the Medical Director of the Operating Room and Sedation Oversight at The Medical Center, Navicent Health where he also served on the Patient Safety, Quality & Performance Improvement Committee, the Professional Practice & Peer Review Committee, and served as Quality Assurance Director for the Department of Anesthesiology.  Dr. Grant was also a member of the Georgia Physicians Leadership Academy of the Medical Association of Georgia.
 
Dr. Grant earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina.  He completed his internship and residency at Duke University and his pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  Dr. Grant also received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.  He holds a Lean Greenbelt for Healthcare Certification from the Institute of Industrial Engineers and is a Certified Physician Executive.  Dr. Grant resides in Macon with his wife Ashley and their four children.
