Otis Redding Visual Art Contest Winners Unveiled

Selected art works of Middle Georgia area high school students will be displayed at the Tubman African American Museum in Macon, GA, along with the winners from other high schools across central Georgia, beginning September 7.

Zelma Redding, Rose Lane Leavell, Craig Coleman, Tommy Pilcher, and Chi Ezekwueche will judge the art contest tomorrow, September 8 at 4pm. The winners of the Otis Redding Visual Art Contest will be announced at the opening reception beginning at 6pm. Students and schools will be honored during the event. The exhibit will remain through September 30.

The Otis Redding Foundation invited all high school aged students from the Middle Georgia area to participate in this year’s “Otis Redding Foundation Visual Art Contest.  Otis Redding was dedicated to improving the quality of life for our community through education and empowerment of it’s youth. With “Dreams to Remember”, we honor his life by fulfilling his dream. The Otis Redding Foundation with its roots in music, The Otis Redding Foundation continues to establish educational awareness program in arts and the humanities.
