OrthoGeorgia Has a New Fellowship Trained Spine Surgeon

Ryan E. Schnetzer, M.D. is home grown having been raised in Newnan Georgia.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Biology graduating cum laude while playing football on two SEC Championship teams for the University of Georgia.  While at the University of Georgia, Dr. Schnetzer received the SEC Male Scholar Athlete Award, Coaches Senior Leadership Award, and achieved the SEC Academic Honor Roll three years running.  He received his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia, and then matriculated to the University of Florida for his orthopedic surgery residency.  During his final year at the University of Florida, Dr. Schnetzer received “The Resident Educator of the Year” award.  Following residency Dr. Schnetzer accepted a spine fellowship appointment from the University of Wisconsin where he engaged in advanced training in minimally invasive as well as traditional surgery of the spine.

Dr. Schnetzer’s professional memberships include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Florida Orthopaedic Society, and the North American Spine Society.  He has presented on state and national levels and has authored various orthopaedic and spine articles.

Dr. Schnetzer has been involved in numerous charity foundations including Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, H.E.R.O. for a Day, The Salvation Army, and the Captain Nicholas Schade Whitlock Foundation.

Dr. Schnetzer is married with two children and enjoys spending time with family, hunting, golf, and water sports.
