The inauguration celebration of Dr. Paul Jones as the 10th president of Fort Valley State University will take place Oct. 5-9, with the investiture ceremony on Friday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.
 
Several campus-wide events will commemorate the celebration, including an academic lecture, spirit day, day of community service and football tailgating with President Paul Jones and First Lady Sylvia Jones.
 
All members of the community are invited to attend scheduled activities.
 
"We invite our friends, alumni and supporters to join the Fort Valley State University family for this momentous and historic occasion," said Ashley Ballard, co-chair of the Inauguration Planning Committee. "Come and witness part of our institution's ongoing legacy of excellence."
 
Fort Valley State University alums and supporters unable to attend in person will have an opportunity to view the investiture online through a scheduled live webcast.
