You’re invited to United Way of Central Georgia’s Opening Ceremony Luncheon with special guests Amanda Miliner and Brian Jordan. The annual campaign kickoff event will take place on Thursday, August 25 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Hawkins Arena, Mercer University. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

Our speakers include Amanda Miliner, former Miss Georgia and champion of education, and Brian Jordan, former professional athlete for the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Braves.

After Amanda’s year as Miss Georgia, she worked in the non-profit arena and was a national spokesperson for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization. She then began a public school teaching career that led to her being named the Georgia Teacher of the Year in 2015. 

Outside of his athletic career, Brian Jordan is the author of multiple children's books, an Emmy award-winning broadcaster, and founder of the Brian Jordan Foundation dedicated to "building healthy minds, strong bodies, and supporting places to grow."
