SPLOST Road Closure Continues
Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO
Wednesday, August 24th, 2016
The portion of Hollingsworth Road between Log Cabin Drive and Emily Street will remain closed for approximately two to three more weeks as a storm drain is installed and the pavement is prepared. (It has been closed since Monday, July 26.)
While that portion is closed, drivers should use Emily Street to get between Hollingsworth Road and Log Cabin Drive. Additional closures may be needed in the future to complete the project.
This work is being done in preparation for the upcoming road and intersection realignment, and is part of a $1.5 million road and safety improvement project funded by the voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
“The residents of the Bellevue neighborhood have a lot to look forward thanks to the SPLOST,” says Macon-Bibb County District 9 Commissioner Al Tillman. “Connected to this safety project is the new Filmore Thomas Park, which we’re creating with more than $1.7 in SPLOST funding.”
