Align Technology, Inc., the makers of Invisalign, awarded Spillers Orthodontics in Warner Robins and Macon, Ga. Invisalign’s highest honor -- ‘Elite Top 1% Provider’ in North America for 2016. This level of recognition is awarded to the leading 1% of providers of Invisalign in the country. Spillers Orthodontics is the first orthodontic practice in Middle Georgia, and the fourth in the state, to receive this honor.

In order to reach the Elite Top 1% designation, a provider must have performed 800 lifetime cases and continue treating cases yearly and attending continuing education classes specific to Invisalign. Spillers Orthodontics began treating patients using Invisalign in 1999, and has since performed over 1,000 cases.

“We are honored to have achieved the Elite Top 1% status with Invisalign,” says Dr. Don Spillers of Spillers Orthodontics. “The Invisalign system has evolved tremendously over the last 17 years and is only getting better. As a result, Dr. Adam Gordon and I are now able to treat even the most difficult orthodontic cases using the technology. We have come so far and will continue to make our practice the leader in clear orthodontic treatment.”

Invisalign is a modern approach to straightening teeth that uses a series of smooth, plastic aligners to move the teeth gradually and gently into place. The aligners are removable, clear and virtually imperceptible. Besides these aesthetic benefits, Invisalign treatment also boasts faster treatment time than braces, requires less orthodontic appointments, and makes it possible for patients to maintain optimal oral hygiene since there are no brackets and wires to trap plaque.

“Many of our teenage and adult patients love that they are able to straighten their smiles and correct their bites without anyone ever knowing,” says Dr. Adam Gordon of Spillers Orthodontics. “Invisalign has eliminated many obstacles to teenage and adult orthodontic treatment.”

Invisalign treatment begins with an orthodontic consultation with an orthodontist. If treatment is needed, a scan is taken of the patient’s mouth. The doctors then complete the patient’s treatment on the computer screen. Each tooth is aligned by the orthodontist to complete the treatment as needed. Once the doctors have built the treatment plan for Invisalign, the scan is sent to them for manufacturing of the aligners. Invisalign prints the aligners and sends them to the doctors for treatment to begin.

In addition to Invisalign, Spillers Orthodontics treats patients using state-of-the art braces and other oral appliances, and is a Premier Provider of the SmartClip™ Self-Ligating Appliance System by 3M Unitek.
