Navicent Health Awards Teen Volunteer Scholarships

On Tuesday, August 2, Navicent Health presented the 2016 Don Faulk Teen Volunteer Scholarship to three teen volunteers. The following recipients each received awards:
 
- $1,000 scholarship - Tarzalyn Outlaw

o   Southwest High School (Bibb County)
o   449 hours of service at Gift Garden, Navicent Health

- $500 scholarship – Aisis Hull

o   Rutland High School (Bibb County)
o   328 hours of service at Heart Center, Navicent Health

- $500 scholarship – Shauntae Tucker

o   Rutland High School (Bibb County)
o   280 hours of service at Wellness Center, Navicent Health
 
The scholarships are awarded to students who have volunteered their time at Navicent Health through the health system’s Teen Volunteer Program. Teens accepted into the program commit to volunteer for a minimum of six months, giving no less than 100 hours of total service. Scholarships, named in honor of former CEO Don Faulk, are funded through The Medical Center, Navicent Health Auxiliary.
 
Applications for the 2017 Teen Volunteer Program are available through September 30, 2016.  The program assists teens from throughout central Georgia with required volunteer hours for school credit, and requires that teens be at least 16 years of age and volunteer after school, Monday through Friday.
