Central Georgia Technical College and Georgia Military College to Sign Articulation Agreement

Central Georgia Technical College and Georgia Military College will hold an articulation agreement signing ceremony Thursday, August 11 at 4 p.m. in the quads on the first floor of the HealthSciences building (H building) at Central Georgia Technical College’s Milledgeville Campus. Congressman JodyHice, who has been a strong proponent of collaborative education in Georgia, is expected to attend.
The goal of the articulation agreement is to provide Associate of Applied Science graduates of select CentralGeorgia Technical College programs with an opportunity to continue on with Georgia Military College to earn a Bachelorof Applied Science degree. Under the agreement, any CGTC student graduating with their AAS degree and has atleast 24 semester hours (36 quarter hours) of technical/occupational credit accepted as transfer credit by GMC, isguaranteed admission into one of GMC’s BAS degree programs in Business Management or Supervision andManagement.
“This agreement will provide our graduates with a valuable opportunity to continue their education to earn a four-yeardegree,” said Dr. Ivan Allen, president of Central Georgia Technical College. “We have great numbers of students whoare highly skilled and qualified and will benefit from this enhanced academic credential. This new agreement with GMCgives our students a viable pathway to the Bachelor’s degree and puts them in a solid position to advance in their career.We are extremely pleased to develop this partnership.”
This agreement formally recognizes that Central Georgia Technical College and Georgia Military College arecommitted to the establishment of an educational partnership to better serve currently enrolled and future students atboth institutions, as well as, support economic and workforce development in the communities served by theseeducational institutions. Further, this articulation agreement is consistent with Gov. Nathan Deal’s Complete CollegeGeorgia initiative designed to provide an improved educational pipeline from high school through college graduation.

These BAS degrees are designed to build upon theoccupational/technical education provided by an Associate of Applied Science degree program and provide anexcellent pathway toward completion of a bachelor degree. This partnership with CGTC is another step in providinggreater opportunities and a brighter future for the citizens of Georgia.”
