Volunteers Still Needed for Annual Little League Southeastern Region Tournaments

Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Thursday, July 14th, 2016

With the countdown to the annual Little League Baseball and Softball Southeastern Region Tournaments nearing two weeks, the Region office is looking for additional volunteers for multiple areas throughout both tournaments.

The current areas with the biggest need for help are concessions and parking. Limited assistance opportunities are available in gift shop, grounds crew and usher.

Groups and businesses may volunteer to assist in concessions and parking areas, while individuals may assist in all available areas. No experience or minimum time commitment is required.

All persons wishing to volunteer, either as an individual or within a group, will need to submit a Little League volunteer application with a government-issued photo ID and agree to a required background check prior to assuming volunteer duties. Individuals can begin the process from the Region website at www.LittleLeague.org/South through the initial registration process. Groups should contact Matt Weber, assistant director at the Region office by phone (478-987-7227) or email ([email protected]) to express interest.

Individuals can also complete either the registration or application in person or drop off materials at the Region office, located at 439 Snellgrove Drive in Warner Robins weekdays from 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-5 pm. The office can make copies of a photo ID, if needed.

Tournament schedules and additional information can be accessed online from the Region website at www.LittleLeague.org/South.

The 2016 Softball Tournament will take place July 28 to August 1 and the 2016 Baseball Tournament will be conducted August 5-10. Both are played at Little League Southeast Park in Warner Robins.
