Spillers Orthodontics is proud to announce the recipients of the 2016 Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship. High school seniors Anna Lyons and Drew Smith, both former patients, were selected from 65 applicants.

A resident of Bonaire, Ga., and graduate of Veterans High School, Lyons will attend Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. Smith, a resident of Butler, Ga., and graduate of Taylor County High School, will attend Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. Each graduate will receive $1,000 to be applied toward tuition, books, fees, or any other related expenses for the student’s first year of college.

Selected by an impartial board, Lyons and Smith were chosen based on their achievement, leadership and service throughout their high school years. They also received excellent references.

“We are so proud of Anna and Drew. It is a privilege and an honor to be able to give back to our orthodontic families, and to reward those students with a drive and desire to make a positive difference in our community and the world,” says Dr. Spillers.

This is the third year Spillers Orthodontics has offered scholarships to high school graduates who are either current or former patients. Applications for the 2017 scholarship are due March 15, 2017.
