Owner of Macon Pest Control Business Hopes to Turn it Over to Daughter Someday
Thursday, June 23rd, 2016
Van Williams co-founded Pest Express, also known as Gantt Mfg., in Macon. It is located at 680 Lower Poplar St., 746-3194. Hours: 8:30 a.m.-4 pm Monday-Friday.
How long have you been in business?: “Well, we started the company, my wife and I did, back in 1980 and at the time it was known as Fords and Gantt Co. We supplied the professional strength pesticides and equipment to exterminators in the Southeast. This went on until about 2007 and we downsized … because of the economy … and we are just a small partnership doing the same thing. … I’ve been certified since (mid-1980s). ... We’re a small family operation.”
