Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO
Friday, May 6th, 2016
The Middle Georgia Job Readiness and Recruitment Event next week in Warner Robins will provide excellent employment opportunities in the manufacturing and logistics industries.
The event will be held Wednesday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Building G at Central Georgia Technical College located at 80 Cohen Walker Dr.
The event is co-sponsored by the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Workforce Division, Middle Georgia Consortium, Inc., Middle Georgia Regional Commission, and the Georgia Department of Labor.
Jobseekers attending the event are urged to participate in two 45-minute job readiness workshops on resume writing and job interviewing prior to talking with employers. While attendees are not required to attend a job readiness session, the sponsors are providing the workshops to help jobseekers make a more favorable impression when talking with potential employers.
Job seekers will be able to develop and print resumes and have them reviewed by experts. Job seekers bringing their own resumes to the event may also have them reviewed by the experts before they meet with employers.
Information will be available about on-the-job training, the federal Trade Adjustment Assistance program and various apprenticeship programs.
