GDOL to Co-sponsor Preventing Workplace Violence Seminar in Milledgeville

The Oconee Area Employer Committee and the Georgia Department of Labor’s Milledgeville Career Center will co-sponsor a seminar about awareness and prevention of workplace violence on Thursday, May 19. It will be held from 8-10 a.m. at the career center at 156 Roberson Mill Rd.
The seminar is designed for business owners, human resource employees, managers, professionals and other workplace personnel.
Justin Seymour, a deputy of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department, will conduct the seminar. Topics will include a review and definition of workplace violence, warning signs, the role of the employees and supervisors, and the process of preventing and protecting violence in the workplace.
There is a registration fee of $10 per person and $5 for each additional attendee from the same organization. Those who wish to attend are encouraged to register by May 13 because of limited seating. Payments and registration should be made to the Oconee Area Employer Committee and mailed to 156 Roberson Mill Road, Milledgeville, GA 31061. Day of the event registration will be allowed, pending available seating.
Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and GDOL career centers.
