Friday, May 6th, 2016

Macon-Bibb County will host the third annual Taste of Macon-Bibb Follies to help raise money for the Georgia Civic Awareness Program for Students Cohort on May 13 at The Douglass Theatre. A reception will be hosted at 6:30 p.m., with the performances beginning at 7:00 p.m. Performances this year will include The Good News Bluegrass, Kawrisa Marshall, violinist Ashley Pointer, and Bill and Sue Davis.

Seating is limited, and tickets can be purchased from any Commissioner or at the Mayor’s Office in Government Center (700 Poplar Street) for $15. To watch a video of last year’s performance click here. For a highlight video of the inaugural performance in 2014, click here.

Funds raised are used throughout the year to take students to different levels of government and learn more about its operation and how to be involved. This past year, students learned more about the consolidated government and were able to visit Atlanta to learn about state government and Washington, D.C. to learn about the federal government.
