Tuesday, April 5th, 2016

Two potentially full-ride scholarships to Middle Georgia State University are on the table for well-qualified high school students.

The Middle Georgia State Foundation is seeking applicants for two Presidential Scholarships, which are awarded to graduating high school seniors in the amount of $5,000 per year. Over the course of four years, the award equates to a full academic scholarship of $20,000, enough to cover the majority of  expenses of earning a Middle Georgia State bachelor's degree.

The scholarships are awarded on top of HOPE Scholarships and any other financial aid students may receive and can be applied toward living expenses and other costs associated with University enrollment.

“We have a strong and ongoing commitment to attract students of the highest quality,” said Dr. Raymond Carnley, the Foundation's executive director. "The Presidential Scholarships are the Foundation's highest awards and represent tremendous opportunities for academically talented students in our area high schools."

The two available scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year are:

The scholarship is renewable for a maximum of three consecutive years, provided the recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA and is making satisfactory progress toward graduation.
