GEICO Associates Donate $1.1M to United Way of Central Georgia

Local residents, community leaders and GEICO associates attended an appreciation event at the GEICO office in Macon as the company and its associates were named United Way of Central Georgia’s top contributor for the 12th year in a row, pledging $1,101,195 during the 2015 United Way campaign.

GEICO is the first company campaign in Central Georgia to ever top the $1.1 million mark.  GEICO associates raised $900,005 and their corporate gift was $201,190.

“I would once again like to thank the employees and management of GEICO for their generous contributions to the United Way Campaign,” said 2015 United Way Campaign Co-Chair John Rhea, President and CEO of Robins Financial Credit Union.  “GEICO and their team members have stepped up to raise over $1 million in support of the United Way agencies in Central Georgia.  Their generosity and leadership continue to improve the quality of life in our community.”

George McCanless, President and CEO of United Way of Central Georgia, expressed his gratitude and said, “For the third straight year the GEICO United Way campaign has exceeded $1 Million, a clear demonstration of the commitment their management and staff hold to help improve lives across Central Georgia. Thanks to their collective generosity, thousands of local individuals and families will receive the critical support they need for a better life.”
