Coliseum Medical Centers and Gentiva Hospice to Co-host 2nd Annual Suicide Awareness Symposium on April 14th

Coliseum Health System and Gentiva Hospice will host the 2nd Annual Suicide Awareness Symposium at Mikado Baptist Church in Macon on April 14. The symposium will begin at 8:30 am and will feature speakers Danny Dixon, PhD, LCSW from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center and Cesar Figueroa, MD from Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health. Presentation topics will include suicide prevention, post-traumatic stress disorder, triggers of suicide, and suicide in our youth. The program will end at 12:30 p.m.
The free event is designed to create more awareness and prevention in the area of suicide. Anyone is invited to attend, but the symposium hopes to attract pastors and chaplains; fire and police department personnel; educators; medical personnel; social workers; funeral homes; behavioral health centers; and any other organization that is interested in suicide prevention.
