Coliseum Health System Celebrates National Healthcare Volunteer Week
Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO
Friday, April 15th, 2016
Coliseum Health System recently celebrated hospital volunteers with a nautical-themed luncheon to tell hospital volunteers “We’d be lost without you!” Collectively, the Coliseum Health System volunteers donated 9,800 hours of their time in 2015. Throughout the year, volunteers for Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside Hospital help with various hospital activities and raise money through vendor and gift shop sales. Funds collected in 2015 benefitted community charities and funded ten $1,000 scholarships for local students who are studying in a healthcare-related field.
At the luncheon, all volunteers were honored, but special recognition was given to volunteers who had earned at least 100 hours in 2015. Each of these individuals received a pin to wear alongside their hospital badge. Awards were given for longest tenure, most hours in 2015, and most hours overall for each facility. This year’s winners were:
Susan Maddox, Longest Tenure at Coliseum Medical Centers – 22 Years
Lynda Stearns, Most Hours in 2015 at Coliseum Medical Centers
Ray Wilkes, Most Overall Hours at Coliseum Medical Centers
Anna Eaton, Longest Tenure at Coliseum Northside Hospital - 22 Years
Joyce Norris, Most Hours in 2015 at Coliseum Northside Hospital
Joyce Norris, Most Overall Hours for Coliseum Health System with over 7,700 Hours
