In an article published this month by The Atlantic, craft breweries are cited as one of 11 signs of a city that will succeed. From the Clark Nexsen perspective, the city of Macon exhibits a number of the other 10 signs of success as well, and the firm is honored to be partnered with Jeff and Beth Kressin, owners of popular watering hole Just Tap’d, to design their newest business endeavor, the Ocmulgee Brewpub.

“The Ocmulgee Brewpub is an ideal addition to the growing downtown culinary scene,” said Nick Vaughn, Architectural Department Head of Clark Nexsen’s Macon office, “Craft beer is and has been exploding in popularity all over the country. We’re thrilled to be part of the team supporting a new business, in the craft brewing and dining industry, in the town we live and work in.”

During the Economic Development Announcement of the new brewpub on March 30th, Clark Nexsen shared a sneak peek at the design for the pub, which will be located at 484 Second Street. Projected to open in late summer, the pub will feature a clean, bright design that highlights existing architectural elements and complements the modern, industrial appearance of the stainless steel brewing tanks. The design team has also enjoyed the opportunity to work on the development of the Ocmulgee Brewpub logo and visual identity, contributing to the brand and weaving it throughout the design.
