CGTC Announces Keynote Speaker for Commencement Ceremony

Dr. Lloyd Horadan, president of Oconee Fall Line Technical College, will deliver Central Georgia Technical College’s commencement keynote address Friday, May 6. The ceremony will honor associate degree and diploma credit program candidates and GED graduates. Over 600 students are expected to participate.
Dr. Horadan has served as president of Oconee Fall Line Technical College since 2011 when Sandersville Technical College and Heart of Georgia Technical College consolidated. Prior to this appointment, he was president at the former Sandersville Technical College. During his tenure, he has also served in multiple leadership positions in the areas of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Economic Development.
“We are honored to have Dr. Horadan speak at CGTC’s commencement ceremony,” said Craig B. Jackson, vice president for Student Affairs at CGTC. “His ability to offer advice and guidance based on his wisdom and many years of experience will be beneficial for our graduates. We look forward to him sharing a message of encouragement with our graduates as they prepare to successfully enter the workforce or move on in their educational careers.”
CGTC’s commencement ceremony will be held at the Macon Centreplex Coliseum, Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m., and is free and open to the public. Additionally, CGTC’s ceremony will be live streamed and may be viewed at www.centralgatech.edu. A special link will be available the day of the event.
CGTC’s summer semester begins May 17. Students should apply now for admission and financial aid to be ready to enroll in classes of choice. CGTC will also offer a seven-week summer mini-mester beginning June 1. Students can take fully transferrable general core classes at an affordable price, no matter their choice of college in the fall. Additionally, for the first time, Move on When Ready dual enrollment courses will be available for current high school students during summer semester.
