The Medical Center, Navicent Health extends its gratitude to its dedicated volunteers and would like to thank them for their tireless efforts to support patient care in 2015.
In order to honor and recognize its dedicated volunteers, Navicent Health will host a Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on Thursday, April 14, 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., in the Macon Marriott’s Magnolia Ballroom (240 Coliseum Drive, Macon). This is not a public event, but the media are cordially invited to attend.
Through fundraisers held at MCNH, volunteers were able to raise $107,786.56 in 2015. Funds have been designated for a variety of purposes, primarily with the intent of supporting patients and their loved ones with comforts and conveniences. Projects funded through volunteer efforts include:
· The completion of a reading room at the Peyton Anderson Cancer Center, Navicent Health.
· The purchase of a charging station for portable electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets and handheld gaming systems.
· Reclining sleeper chairs for family members in MCNH’s Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
· The funding of five scholarships for college students pursuing allied health degrees.
Volunteers host vendor sales throughout the year that are open to Navicent Health employees and the public, including jewelry and accessory sales, book sales, electronic sales, and outerwear sales. In addition to raising funds, volunteers also donated 7,647 hours of their time in 2015 to assist with patient care and satisfaction.
“Our volunteers are an integral part of The Medical Center, Navicent Health. Their support makes it possible for us to achieve so much more than we could on our own, and they are able to add that extra touch of kindness for our patients and visitors,” said Missi Upshaw, Director of Volunteer Services for MCNH.
