Middle Georgia State Arts Fest Kicks Off March 14th

"Global Expressions" is the theme of the 2016 Middle Georgia State University Arts Festival, scheduled for March 14-16. All events are free and open to the public.
 
Here is the schedule:
 
· 6 p.m. Monday, March 14, "Latin Dance Night," Arts Complex Rehearsal room, College of Arts and Sciences building, Middle Georgia State Macon Campus. Led by Dr. Maritza Bell-Corrales, associate professor of Spanish at Middle Georgia State. While teaching dance on the side, Bell-Corrales focuses on classroom-based research to improve the teaching of Spanish and other languages.
 
· 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, "French Painting," Arts Complex Rehearsal room, College of Arts and Sciences building, Middle Georgia State Macon Campus. (Note: Middle Georgia State students get priority for easels.) Led by Shannon Riddle, Middle Georgia State lecturer of Art. Riddle is a painter with 20 years of experience in his medium.
 
· 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, "Ikebana Demonstration," Dillard Hall, Middle Georgia State Cochran Campus. Ikebana is the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging. Led by Yuko Hancock, who has been studying at the Ichiyo School of Ikebana since 1997 and received her master instructor certificate in 2007. She promotes the unique aesthetic value of Ikebana exhibits in various art galleries.
