Wednesday, January 13th, 2016
The community has re-established its “Committee for Excellence in Education” to encourage Houston County voters to vote “Yes” on the upcoming Houston County Board of Education E-SPLOST on Mar. 1.
The group will hold its organizational meeting on Jan. 21, 2016, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Robins Financial Credit Union Learning Center at 211 Robins Drive (corner of Robins and University Boulevard) in Warner Robins. This is located behind the RFCU main branch. Parking will be available at the Learning Center, the branch, and at the Middle Georgia State University across the street.
At the meeting, the Committee will be briefed on the E-SPLOST to prepare them to answer questions about the campaign. The organization plans to raise money that night to fund the “Vote YES” campaign.
The Committee has already begun to make presentations to local civic and community groups about supporting the “Yes” vote.
The Committee’s website is www.houstoncountysplost.com where residents of Houston County can find all of the Board of Education information on the renewal of the E-SPLOST.
