Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO
Friday, December 4th, 2015
The Middle Georgia Regional Commission, under guidelines from the State of Georgia, Department of Community Affairs, has initiated the process of creating updates to the Middle Georgia Regional Plan. The Regional Plan is a long-term guide for growth and development throughout the Middle Georgia region and informs the Regional Commission and its member local governments of work to be completed in upcoming years.
During the fall of 2015, the first two components of the Regional Plan were completed by the Middle Georgia Regional Commission. These include an assessment of current conditions within the region as well as the Regional Commission’s plan for ongoing stakeholder participation in the planning process. These documents are available for public review on the Middle Georgia Regional Commission’s website, as well as at the Regional Commission’s office.
The Regional Commission is requesting assistance from interested individuals to provide input for the Regional Plan as it is developed over the next four to six months. A general interest survey, as well as a schedule of upcoming stakeholder meetings can be found on the Middle Georgia Regional Commission’s website:

Residents of Middle Georgia are encouraged to share their opinions with the Regional Commission on this important effort.
