Macon-Bibb County Animal Welfare will host its 2nd annual Pet-a-Truck fundraiser benefitting United Way on Saturday, December 19, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This year’s event will be held at the new Animal Welfare Center at 4214 Fulton Mill Road.
 
“We wanted to give back to the community that continues to support us as we protect the safety of our neighborhoods and animals,” says Animal Welfare Director Sonja Adams.
 
Throughout the day, children can visit with Santa Clause drink hot chocolate, get inside city vehicles, jump on bounce castles and moonwalks, and, of course, pet and adopt one of the many animals housed at the Center. Vehicles that children can get up and close with include a fire truck, a patrol car from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the EMA Command Center, an Animal Welfare Truck, a garbage collection truck, an ambulance from Navicent Health, a motor grader, tractors, and a sewer vac.
 
“We are excited that Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare will again be hosting their annual fundraiser Pet-a-Truck to benefit the United Way of Central Georgia,” stated Judy Nelson, Vice President of Marketing & Communications for the United Way of Central Georgia. “Bringing people together for a fun and exciting event that will benefit our neighbors in need and help find homes for animals in the Center is a WIN WIN.”
 
The cost to attend the event is $5.00 for a family of four, and each additional family member costs $1.00. 100% of the proceeds from Pet-a-Truck go to the United Way to support the organizations working to improve our community.
