Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Wednesday, November 18th, 2015

Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority Board Chairman Cliffard Whitby announced two special events this week. The MBCIA moved to its new location, 439 Mulberry Street, in Downtown Macon last month.

Prior to their regularly scheduled noonday Properties Meeting, the MBCIA will host a brief ribbon cutting ceremony. Mayor Robert A.B. Reichert, an MBCIA Board Member will preside over the soft opening. “This is an exciting week for The Authority,” Whitby said, “We will announce our partnership with Mercer University to launch our first business innovation incubator and officially open our new location on Mulberry Street to the community. Celebrating our partnership with Macon-Bibb’s Small Business Administration Office, we will host a Contractor & Vendor Appreciation Ceremony/Luncheon to honor the support and work of local and minority-owned businesses. This is the first ceremony of its kind and we hope to create many new “firsts” for our community.”

The public is invited and encouraged to attend to learn more about becoming an “official” contractor, vendor, or partner with the MBCIA and its partners.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony begins at 11:30am. The Contractor & Vendor Appreciation event and luncheon will follow immediately. Both activities will occur on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. The regularly scheduled monthly Properties Meeting will ensue.
