Readers Needed to Read to a Class on October 22nd

United Way of Central Georgia is in need of volunteers to Read to an Elementary School class on Thursday, October 22 as part of the national Read for the Record event. Volunteers can sign up for 30 mins – 1 hour slots, and will be asked to read the book Not Norman: A Goldfish Story by Kelly Bennett to a class during this event. All volunteers are required to pass a back ground check. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Read for the Record is a global reading campaign that encourages community support to help build a child’s vocabulary and love for reading by participating in a shared reading experience on October 22, 2015. The books for this event have been provided by community partners Mercer University, Junior League of Macon, The Links, United Way of Central Georgia, State Bank & Trust and community donations. The 10 schools participating in this event are United Way of Central Georgia Read2Succeed Schools.
