Middle Georgia State University is the host and a sponsor of the 2015 Central Georgia Heart Walk to raise funds for the American Heart Association.
The 5K Heart Walk and preliminary activities begin at 8 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Student Life Center on Middle Georgia State's Macon Campus. The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to defeating heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.
About 1,200 people are expected to participate in the Macon event. There are no entry fees. Walkers are eligible to receive a Heart Walk t-shirt once they have raised a minimum of $100.
