The Flint Energies Board of Directors agreed this week to donate roughly $130,000 in unclaimed capital credits to the Flint Energies Foundation.
The Flint Energies Foundation Board of Directors has met in a special strategic planning session to determine how to create the greatest impacts on local non-profit organizations with the new influx of funds.
“Since 2001, the Flint Energies Foundation has used member contributions to improve the quality of life in Middle Georgia,” said Flint’s Sr. Vice President Jimmy Autry. “To date, more than $3.5 million has been donated by the Foundation. In addition, the Flint Energies Foundation announced a new scholarship program earlier this week which will provide some $80,000 for GED testing, technical college, college and university scholarships. These scholarships are also funded by unclaimed capital credits.
