Congressman Bishop Announces $266,230 Grant Awarded to First Choice Primary Care in Macon

Today, Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) is proud to announce a $266,230 grant has been awarded to First Choice Primary Care, Inc. in Macon, Georgia by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The grant will go towards facility planning and construction, health services planning and technical support, program development, as well as improving and expanding general health and medical services. The grants will also be used to improve education and training programs for health care employees.
“I am very grateful that First Choice Primary Care will be able to expand resources in providing services to the Macon area,” said Congressman Bishop. “The importance of one’s health cannot be understated and now this non-profit organization will have the means to improve the delivery of primary and preventive health care.”
“This supplemental funding from HRSA will help First Choice Primary Care expand its efforts to provide patient centered primary care to the underserved, increase behavioral health services, improve services for patients with cardiovascular disease, and strengthen our quality programs,” said Katherine McLeod, Chief Executive Officer of First Choice Primary Care. “Our partnerships with River Edge Behavioral Health, the Bibb County School District, Communities in Schools and others will help us make the most of this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Middle Georgia residents.”
