Middle Georgia State's Peacock Gallery Features Louisiana Purchase Print Exhibition

Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Tuesday, September 8th, 2015

The Louisiana Purchase Print Exhibition is showing at Middle Georgia State University's Peacock Gallery through Friday, Oct. 2. Opening reception and gallery talk will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8. Peacock Gallery is located in Russell Hall on the Cochran Campus. This event is free and open to the public.

The print exchange explores the theme of the Louisiana Purchase as an event that shaped America politically, socially, and geographically.  The exchange of land between France and the United States resulted in the displacement of populations and a blending of cultures.  A contemporary look at territories affected by the purchase still reflects the influence of this event.

Peacock Gallery's regular hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday.
