CGTC Foundation to Host 6th Annual Race for Education

The Central Georgia Technical College Foundation will host the 6th annual Race for Education 5K and Fun Run Saturday, September 12 at the College’s Warner Robins campus. The Race for Education, presented by Whitby, Inc., is a run/walk fundraiser for Adult Education programs at CGTC, including health and family literacy programs, ESL programs, and GED scholarships.
Same day registration and packet pick up for the Race for Education begins at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. Participants can still register online prior to the event at active.com. The 5k and fun run registration fee is $25 for each event.
Teams are highly encouraged to participate in the race as well. Teams of five or more can receive a 10 percent discount if registered prior to race day. The discount will not be available for same day registration.
Whitby, Inc., a construction firm in Macon, is the presenting sponsor for this year’s event. Robins Federal Credit Union is a platinum sponsor. Gold sponsors include Fall Line Contractors, Inc. and Georgia Bob’s BBQ. Silver sponsors for the race are ComSouth and State Farm and bronze sponsors include Adams, Jordan, & Herrington, P.C., Harmon & Harmon Realtors, Houston County Joint CLCP, and Scott’s Healthmart Pharmacy.
This is a Run and See Georgia Grand Prix event and is managed by a professional race services companyThis is a Black Bag Race Series and a Run & See Georgia Grand Prix event and is managed by Classic Race Services. The 5K course will begin at the CGTC Warner Robins campus and continue through the Houston Central area. The fun run begins at 9 a.m. and winds through the campus.
