Since the Museum of Aviation’s inception in 1984, B&D Industrial has been a consistent supporter of Middle Georgia’s coveted museum located adjacent to Robins Air Force Base. Presented at the Museum of Aviation Foundation’s quarterly board meeting, B&D Industrial’s financial gift will assist the museum in enhancing the World War II displays, including aircrafts and artifacts. Annually, the museum hosts over 400,000 visitors, including over 50,000 schoolchildren.
Open to the public since 2008, the WWII exhibit is a $2 million privately funded project spanning 60,000 square feet within a 51-acre complex. The mission of the WWII exhibit aims to honor the legacy of all who served during WWII, preserve and display the museum’s WWII collection of aircrafts and artifacts, deliver a cohesive storyline with interactivity for learners of all ages and offer an educational tool for future generations.
“Today is an exciting day for B&D Industrial as we continue our commitment to the Museum of Aviation,” said Andy Nations, president and CEO of B&D Industrial. Headquartered in Macon, Georgia, B&D Industrial employs over 250 Georgia residents. “The museum is a valuable community asset for Georgia and the southeast, and is dedicated to providing a superior platform for honoring, displaying and preserving our country’s history. B&D Industrial is proud to be a consistent corporate supporter.”
“I sincerely appreciate this significant donation to the Museum of Aviation by Mr. Andy Nations and B&D Industrial. This kind of support is critical to our operating and expansion programs, and to providing quality
exhibits, restorations and education programs to the many thousands of students and visitors that come here every year. Mr. Nations is a man with vision and a true community spirit – all of us in Middle Georgia benefit from that,” said Patrick Bartness, president/COO of the Museum of Aviation Foundation.
