On Thursday, August 6, The Medical Center, Navicent Health presented the 2015 Don Faulk Teen Volunteer Scholarship to three teen volunteers - Tarzalyn Outlaw received the $1,000 award while Nikalya Bentley and Neha Patel each received $500 awards.
The scholarships are awarded to students who have volunteered their time at Navicent Health through the hospital’s Teen Volunteer Program. Teens accepted into the program commit to volunteer for a minimum of six months, giving no less than 100 hours of total service. Scholarships, named in honor of former CEO Don Faulk, are funded through the MCNH Auxiliary.
Applications for the 2016 Teen Volunteer Program are available through September 30, 2015. The program assists teens with required volunteer hours for school credit, and requires that teens be at least 16 years of age and volunteer after school, Monday through Friday.
