With listeners tuning in from South Dakota last month, The Greatest Memories has now reached people in 45 states and 80 countries. Produced and hosted by Ben Sandifer of GMS Productions, The Greatest Memories is a monthly hour-long on-demand radio program, targeted to seniors.
“Musically, we play everything from the big bands of Glenn Miller and Harry James, to classic country from artists like Hank Williams and Patsy Cline, to 70’s artists such as the Carpenters,” said Sandifer, a veteran radio producer of more than 40 years.
Launched in October 2013, The Greatest Memories began as a creative marketing program for its sponsors, the Macon-based retirement communities owned and managed by Double Eagle Associates. In addition to the music, The Greatest Memories includes anecdotes about the songs, news and sports memories and other elements that tie the music to the month.
The August edition of the program includes some random memories about summer from visitors to Lane Southern Orchards, a Solutions for Seniors segment explaining reverse mortgages, and a classic musical spotlight on My Fair Lady from John Jones with Macon Little Theatre.
The podcast is compatible with mobile technology, such as smart phones and tablets, and previous episodes of The Greatest Memories remain active on the host page, even after a new episode is published each month. To download or listen to The Greatest Memories, visit www.thegreatestmemories.com.
