Clerk Erica Woodford Announces Re-Election Bid for Superior Court Clerk

Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Wednesday, August 5th, 2015

Almost three years ago, with your prayers and support I was elected to serve as your Clerk of Superior Court. It has been my honor to work with an intelligent, hard-working, and dedicated staff who shares my commitment to providing the best customer service possible to the citizens who utilize our services. I made several promises to the citizens of Bibb County during my campaign, and I am pleased to be able to report that I have kept each of those promises. I am proud of the positive changes and improvements that we have made so far, including the following:

  • Electronic payment processing, accepting credit and debit cards as forms of payment

  • Online payment processing, allowing citizens to pay child support, fees, fines, and restitution online from the convenience of home

  • Automated jury management system, migrating the jury pool from the mainframe to an automated system

  • Increased training and leadership opportunities for staff, increasing customer service skills and specialized knowledge

  • Increased documents available online, expanding the amount of searchable real estate documents to attorneys, banks, title abstractors, and the public on our eSearch system

  • Hired bi-lingual staff, continuing the effort to make the Clerk’s Office more accessible to all members of our community

  • Installed courthouse ATM, making the courthouse experience more convenient and efficient

  • Initiated e-filing program, allowing litigants to file court documents electronically

  • Initiated Tax Refund Intercept Program, increasing child support collections

In addition to working to modernize the operations of the Clerk’s Office, I have taken the mission of the Clerk’s Office outside of the courthouse by co-sponsoring a Domestic Violence Forum in collaboration with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Crisis Line, and Georgia Legal Services. The Clerk’s Office has also hosted winter coat drives, as well as, food drives. I am committed to continuing to increase efficiency and the quality of services that we provide. I want to thank the citizens of Bibb County for their confidence in allowing me to work for them these last three years, and I humbly ask for your continued support as I seek re-election and the opportunity to continue to serve as your Clerk of Superior Court.
