Central Georgia Technical College recently awarded over 800 diplomas and degrees, and an additional 350 GED diplomas, to the 2015 graduating class. The May 8 commencement ceremony was held at the Macon Centreplex where Dr. Anthony O. Parker, president of Albany Technical College, was the keynote speaker.
Steven Luna, an Aviation Maintenance Technology student and Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership recipient, gave the invocation and Nadia Hodge, CGTC’s 2015 Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education delegate, gave the benediction. CGTC President Dr. Ivan H. Allen recognized and encouraged the graduates when conferring their awards.
This year's ceremony marked a record-setting occasion with over 1,000 students participating in the ceremony. In FY 2014, CGTC became the first college in the Technical College System of Georgia to confer awards to more than 3,000 students in one year. With campuses in Warner Robins, Macon, and Milledgeville, CGTC serves over 35,000 unique individuals annually.
