Navicent Health is now pleased to offer Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction (ASiR) technology for their GE CT System . ASiR is an advanced reconstruction technology for computed tomography (CT) that produces higher diagnostic performance yet reduces radiation doses by up to 40 percent.

“CT scans are a powerful and needed imaging tool when diagnosing and prescribing treatment for our patients. The new ASiR technology enhances the patient’s safety through its lower dose of radiation while maintaining  image quality,” said Dr Fady Wanna, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Clinical Officer for Navicent Health.

In addition to lower doses of radiation, ASiR also delivers efficient reconstruction speed at 35 frames per second, decreasing scan time for the patient.

“The shorter scan time will make the imaging process much easier for the patient. For example, an abdominal scan may be performed in as little as eight seconds, shortening breath holds, minimizing exposure to radiation and providing a quicker diagnosis. This technology improves the diagnosis, treatment and quality of care that we give to our patients. The lower radiation dose is especially important in pediatric patients,” said Dr. Paul Chandler, Chief of Pediatric Radiology for Navicent Health.

The ASiR technology will be employed at the following Navicent Health entities:

· Children’s Hospital, Navicent health

· Medical Center, Navicent Health

· Medical Center of Peach County, Navicent Health

· Diagnostics Monroe, Navicent Health
