Perry Council Considers Lowering Hotel Tax

Visitors to Perry could soon save a buck on their hotel rooms.
Perry City Council on Tuesday held the first hearing of a proposal to lower the city’s accommodations tax to 7 percent, down from the current 8 percent.
Mayor Jimmy Faircloth said it’s not clear how the City Council will vote on the measure at its next meeting in three weeks.
