Online Check-in Now Available for Houston Healthcare’s Emergency Rooms
Press release from the issuing company
Friday, March 27th, 2015
Houston Healthcare is pleased to now offer ER Express, an online tool which allows patients with non-life threatening illnesses to reserve a spot in the Emergency Room. Instead of waiting in the Emergency Room, patients can wait in the comfort of their home. This service is now available at both Houston Medical Center and Perry Hospital.
“We believe ER Express will be of great use for those with non-life threatening illnesses who need to come to the Emergency Room but are afraid of how long they will have to wait,” shares Mindy Hartley, DNP, RN, Vice President, Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer for Houston Healthcare. “The goal is for most patients who use ER Express to be seen as close to their check-in time as possible, but as in all situations, we will treat patients who enter our Emergency Departments according to the severity of their illness.”
ER Express allows patients with non-life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to select a time to see a health care provider in either of our Emergency Departments. This service is especially helpful to:
- People with children who need to arrange for someone to care for them while at the emergency department;
- Those who are assisting the elderly, who might require more time to get to the hospital; or,
- For those who might live further away and wish to reserve a place in line while driving to the hospital.
ER Express is a free service offered by Houston Healthcare. For more information, visit www.hhc.org/erexpress.
