The Development Authority of the City of Milledgeville & Baldwin County announced today that the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Industrial Park has been named a Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) by the Georgia Allies, a public-private partnership focused on economic development marketing.
“The GRAD designation for the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Industrial Park means that it can truly compete on a global stage for new industry and the accompanying jobs,” said Pat Wilson, Executive Director of Georgia Allies, and COO of the Department of Economic Development. “I fully believe that Milledgeville and Baldwin County’s efforts to attain the GRAD status for the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Industrial Park will be beneficial.”
The 414.12 acre Park is located along SR22. The site is zoned for Heavy Industrial uses with protective covenants in place for development. The largest available “pad-ready” site is 44 acres and multiple other sites are primed for future development. The Park is located within the Milledgeville city limits and has a Class 4 Protective Fire Rating. The Park has water, sewer, natural gas, fiber, and power throughout, which allows for easy access to utilities for growth and development.
The GRAD designation indicates that the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Industrial Park is market-ready. The designation also offers several tools to market the site, including:
Program benefits are listed on the Georgia Department of Economic Development website
Highlighted listings on the industrial site databases of major electric utility websites
Continued presence on Georgia Allies electronic newsletter targeted to companies and location consultants
Site awareness for statewide project managers and Georgia Allies partners
“We’ve worked diligently over the past six months to finalize this process and know that the attainment of this designation will be beneficial to our community’s economic growth and vitality,” said Authority Chair Chat Daniel.
