Mercer, Macon-Bibb Discussing Land Swap
Wednesday, March 18th, 2015
Mercer University and Macon-Bibb County are discussing a land exchange.
It would let Mercer acquire the current senior center on Adams Street, valued at $712,000, and let Macon-Bibb acquire six properties, including Mercer's intramural fields, for the Second Street Corridor project, valued at $738,300.
"It's going to be a negligible amount of money that's going to need to change hands at the end of the day," said Mercer University Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Larry Brumley. "That corner where the senior citizens center sits right now is ideally suited for administrative offices or other purposes."
