The International Cherry Blossom Festival is proud to announce the selection of Dr. James Gaudet as the Grand Marshal for the 2015 GEICO Pink on Pink Parade, scheduled to occur at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 22 in Downtown Macon.

Mark Butcher, 2015 Festival Chair, commented, “What better way to recognize one of Macon-Bibb’s most committed and active citizens exhibiting a commitment to our community than to honor them as the Grand Marshal of the 33^rd Annual Cherry Blossom Festival Parade.”

Dr. Gaudet has owned and directed the Gaudet Chiropractic Center in Macon since 1987 where he treats a wide range of patients from newborns to senior citizens, professional athletes, Olympians, high school competitors, and amateurs. From 1976 to 1982, Dr. Gaudet played professional baseball for several teams including the Kansas City Royals.

He was the founder and co-director of the Gaudet All-Star Baseball Camp which hosted over 13,000 boys and girls between 1987 and 2011 for a free community baseball camp with over 100 volunteers. Partners for the camp included local law enforcement and firefighters, government officials, Robins Air Force Base, and local baseball teams. In 2012, Gaudet was awarded the Red Cross Heroes Award for his work with the camp.

Currently, Dr. Gaudet serves on the board for Men About Change, an after-school program for under-served boys ages 6-13 in the local community. He is the former Vice President and Board Member of the Georgia Chiropractic Association and was named Chiropractor of the Year by The Telegraph in 2012 and 2013 and runner up in 2011 and 2014.

President of the Festival, Jake Ferro, is proud to honor Dr. Gaudet as Grand Marshal, “Since Jim and I met in the 1980's, he has clearly demonstrated a 'make a difference' attitude and spirit for our entire Middle Georgia community.”
