Shane Gottwals Set to Open Eighth Bookstore by February

Press release from the issuing company

Thursday, January 22nd, 2015

Started in March of 2007, Gottwals Books began as a 1,500 square foot shop in Warner Robins, GA carrying 10,000 used books. Now franchising under the Walls of Books name, the family-owned corporation will have eight locations open in four states by the beginning of February 2015. These stores occupy a total of nearly 20,000 square feet of retail space and hold a combined 300,000 used books.

Despite the decline in printed sales for the book industry in recent years, owner Shane Gottwals has seen incredible retail success selling used books. This certainly defies national book-selling trends. He thinks that reasonably-priced used book options, low overhead, consistent customer experiences, and a strong store credit trade-in system set his company apart.

The latest Walls of Books franchise opened in Zanesville, Ohio on January 10, 2015. The opening day sales beat the single-day sales record system-wide. The next store will be company owned and is slated to open on February 3, 2015 in Spring Hill, Florida.

Store Locations:

Warner Robins, GA (2007)

Byron, GA (2009)
