State Bank and Trust Company announced today that Jeremy Pritchard has been appointed by NACHA to serve on the NACHA Government Relations Advisory Group. Pritchard, a Certified Treasury Professional, is State Bank’s Senior Treasury Professional for Middle Georgia and an Accredited ACH Professional with over 10 years’ experience in funds management, treasury management and information technology.
Terri Sands, Senior Vice President of Payments and Fraud Management at State Bank, said, “Having a State Bank expert represented on this prestigious national advisory group is another example of the strategic emphasis State Bank places on payments and treasury services. The ACH Network is the lifeblood of commercial payments and it’s why we are actively involved in NACHA on behalf of our clients.”
NACHA – The Electronics Payments Association oversees the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network, the backbone for the electronic movement of money and data, universally connecting all 12,000 financial institutions in the U.S.
NACHA’s Government Relations Advisory Group (GRAG) consists of representatives from NACHA's member Direct Financial Institutions, Regional Payments Associations, and Industry Councils. GRAG's objective is to educate on and promote the use of the ACH Network. Advisory group members review and contribute to NACHA's overall public policy development; advise on policy priorities; and assist in NACHA position development on specific payments system issues, including testimony and requests for comment by government agencies on proposed rules.
In addition, State Bank is one of the few banks its size that serve as direct members of NACHA. Most of the 30 direct member financial institutions are large national and regional banks.
