Announcing 2015 Parade Theme for Cherry Blossom Festival

Press release from the issuing company

Tuesday, January 27th, 2015

The International Cherry Blossom Festival is excited to announce the theme of the 2015 parade which will fill Downtown Macon’s historic streets with families, laughter, and music on Sunday, March 22 at 3pm. This year’s theme is “Pink on Pink,” in honor of Middle Georgia’s favorite color.

Mark Butcher, 2015 Festival Chair and General Manager of the Macon Marriott City Center hotel, explains the deeper connection with the color pink and the 2015 Festival. “Macon is the home of the Pinkest Party on Earth, and this year, the Cherry Blossom Festival is taking pink to a whole new level! Pink represents the Yoshino cherry blossoms, the Mary Kay Convention occurring during the Festival with over 1,800 representatives attending, and two of our featured nations who adore the color pink – Australia and Japan. Australians are quite accustomed to pink with their famous pink lake and pink salt flats, and the Japanese people are proud of the lovely Yoshino cherry blossom trees that dot their landscape.”

From pink cars and pink poodles to over 350,000 blooming Yoshino cherry trees, this truly is the Pinkest Party on Earth. Parade participants are encouraged to get decked out in pink and share in the Cherry Blossom Festival spirit.

If you are interested in participating in the parade, applications are now available online here: http://www.cherryblossom.com/get-involved/applications/. For questions, please contact Sean Pritchard at [email protected].
